This device stimulates muscles by applying a short burst of a very high voltage across it. The shock is generated from a 9V block battery by charging an inductor and suddenly interrupting the circuit, resulting in a very high voltage. The output side of the inductor (transformer) has an even higher voltage based on the turn ration. A 555 timer generates the timing. Intensity and frequency can be adjusted with the potentiometers.
